In the INNOVACT cross-border region Chile-Peru, a fruitful binational cooperation continues to grow. The “Technical Assistance Program and Human Capital Development to promote an Arica-Tacna border productive ecosystem” project by CEPAL, led the two universities (theNational University Jorge Basadre Grohmann (Tacna, Peru) and the University of Tarapacá (Arica, Chile)) come together to increase research on cross-border collaboration. Previous work achieved in the framework of INNOVACT will serve as a valuable source of information for the project. In parallel, the Economic Development Agency is in the process of being established in Tacna. The Tacna Region has been selected to become one of the first five pilot regions for the installation of Regional Development Agencies (ARD) within the framework of the Agreement "Sustainable Economic Development and Promotion of SMEs at Subnational Level" signed by the Republic of Peru with the European Union. For the design and installation of the ARD, different regional and transnational planning efforts will be taken as inputs, among them, the Binational Action Plans: Intelligent and Sustainable Agriculture and Adventure Tourism, both elaborated within the framework of INNOVACT.
