The third of the series of first working meetings has taken place in the Ecuador-Colombia cross-border region last 4th and 5th December 2017. The Colombian department of Putumayo hosted the event in the city of Mocoa, which brought together over 60 representatives from the public, private and academic sectors on both side of the border. The governor of Putumayo hosted the event.

Valuable lessons on cross-border cooperation were presented for the border area as well as the EU approach to cooperation and to innovation support governance. Good specific practices were also shared by experts from the border area. The EU perspective and experience in supporting cross border cooperation for innovation was presented by INNOVACT experts as well as by the representative from the Diputacion de Badajoz.

Participants expressed full support and enthusiasm with regard to INNOVACT’s activities and objectives and discussed the way forward in promoting successful cooperation for innovation in the cocoa and tourism value chains.
