Venere Stefania Sanna, Professor at the University of Rome and expert in regional development and cross-border policies, was INNOVACT’s guest speaker for the webinar entitled “Cross border cooperation: opportunities and challenges” (Monday 7th of May 2018). Professor Venere Sanna delivered an insightful presentation on practices and policies in cross-border cooperation in Europe, successful experiences of cross-border cooperation in specific value chains (Italy/France, Italy/Tunisia), as well as challenges and opportunities for building successful cooperation models in cross-border contexts. More than 50 people participated in the webinar. Participants were asked to take part in a short exercise on multi-level governance and to identify multi-level governance actors related to value chain development in their cross-border areas. The closing Q&A question was lively and indicated a strong interest from participants on the experience of European cross border policies, specifically from a governance perspective. The INNOVACT team would like to thank Venere Sanna once more for a productive and insightful webinar, which is part of a series of webinars that will be managed by the INNOVACT team.
